From a betting perspective, the best thing about any Super Bowl is the abundance of different bets that are available this time of year.

This is the one football game of the season in which nothing is off-limits.

You can bet on just about anything associated with the game right now, from who will win between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers to what type of Gatorade is dumped on the victorious coach.

If you live in Ontario, Canada you can even bet on whether Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor Swift on the field after the game at +190 for yes and -250 for no. Another silly one only available up north: Will the Super Bowl MVP mention Swift in his speech? You can get yes at +600 and no at -1100.

That just goes to show there are no shortage of options. Want to bet on the coin toss or the national anthem or the halftime show or the commercials? This is your opportunity.

With that in mind, here is a look at some of the best and most entertaining prop bets that are being offered alongside the 49ers being favored by two and the O/U points total of 47.5:

Another big game from Travis Kelce

It looked like Kelce’s football talents were on the decline as the Kansas City tight end put up pedestrian numbers (for his standards) during the regular season. But he has turned back the clock since the playoffs began.

First, he grabbed seven passes for 71 yards against Miami. Then he had five catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns against Buffalo. After that, he hauled in 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown against Baltimore.

If you think his heater will continue, here are some good bets to consider, beyond the obvious.

You can get Kelce to lead all players in receiving yards at the Super Bowl at 3-to-1 odds. Or you can take him to lead the game in receptions at +150.

Want to take a bigger swing? How about Super Bowl MVP at 17-to-1 or Kelce breaking the Super Bowl record for 215 receiving yards at 250-to-1?

My favorite long shot to win Super Bowl MVP

If we’re being honest with ourselves, there are only four realistic options for Super Bowl MVP.

Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy are the clear front runners, followed by Travis Kelce and Christian McCaffrey.

Something extraordinary would have to happen for the award to go to anyone else. Still, there is one long shot I like next week. Give me Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker at 350-to-1.

It wasn’t that long ago that he booted six field goals and an extra point to lift Kansas City to an important home win over Cincinnati. KC needed him to kick four field goals in the wild card round. If the Chiefs struggle to score touchdowns in the red zone in Las Vegas, that could open the door for him to have another high-scoring day.

First sack of the game

Patrick Mahomes doesn’t take many sacks, especially when he is in playoff mode.

That makes the Chiefs to record the first sack of the Super Bowl an enticing bet at -120. Brock Purdy isn’t exactly a statue in the pocket, but the Kansas City pass rush should have an easier time getting to him than vice versa.

Plenty of rushing yards from quarterbacks

NFL quarterbacks tend to take off and run for meaningful yards in the playoffs much more often than they do in the regular season.

That makes both Patrick Mahomes (25.5) and Brock Purdy (12.5) to go over their rushing totals a decent look.

Mahomes rushed for 44 yards in the Super Bowl last year, despite playing through injury. Purdy rushed for 48 yards last week against the Lions.

Fun novelty Super Bowl props

Unfortunately, several of the following props are not currently available in Kansas. But that could change as kickoff approaches.

It’s also possible that you are reading this from a state in which these odds are being offered. So hopefully you can access them one way or another.

Here is a rundown of the best novelty props for the game:

  • Over/under 86.5 seconds for Reba McEntire’s rendition of the national anthem

  • Coin toss outcome

  • Will a kick make contact with the uprights?

  • First team to throw the challenge flag

  • Over/under 8.5 songs performed by Usher at halftime

  • Taylor Swift makes guest appearance at halftime show (+550)

  • First song played by Usher

  • Color of liquid poured on winning coach: purple (+200), blue (+275), yellow/green/lime (+400), orange (+450), red/pink (+450), clear/water (+1000).

My advice: Tails never fails. Go with that one on the coin toss. And why not take a long shot with water during the victory celebration? There’s no way all of those Gatorade colors will be available on the sideline. But I can guarantee you the players will have access to water. Those odds seem mis-priced.
