The best selection of movies and TV series seem to be released during the summer, and the 2021 lineup from the most popular streaming services is sure to offer something for everyone.
Netflix is bringing back one of its most popular franchises by offering up the next chapter in "The Kissing Booth" trilogy, along with a gender-swapped remake of the 1999 teen comedy, "She's All That." The upcoming "He's All That" stars TikTok influencer Addison Rae as she kicks off her acting career, playing a girl on a mission to transform one of the most unpopular guys in high school into the prom king.
Amazon Prime Video is bringing its own star-studded series "Nine Perfect Strangers" to screens, and stars Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy. The suspenseful drama series is based on the book of the same title, by Liane Moriarty, who also penned "Big Little Lies" and helped turn the novel into a smash hit for HBO.

He's All That
Reimagining the 1999 teen classic "She’s All That", this film follows an influencer (Addison Rae) who accepts a challenge to turn the school’s biggest loser (Tanner Buchanan) into prom king. Streams August 27.

In this thriller series, family man Nick Brewer is abducted in a crime with a sinister online twist. Eight different points of view provide clues to the perpetrator of a gruesome crime fuelled by social media, while those closest to him race to uncover who is behind it and why. Streams August 25.

Nine Perfect Strangers
Based on The New York Times best-selling book by author Liane Moriarty, "Nine Perfect Strangers" takes place at a high-end wellness resort that promises healing and transformation for a group of stressed-out city dwellers. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort's director, Masha (Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine "perfect" strangers have no idea what is about to hit them. Streams August 20.
Modern Love S2
Inspired by The New York Times column of the same name, the Amazon Original Series "Modern Love" returns for season two with a star-studded cast and new stories of love and relationships in all their complexities and beauty. The series stars "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington, Lucy Boynton, Anna Paquin and Garrett Hedlund. Streams August 13.

In this raunchy comedy, strait-laced Marcus and Emily (Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji) are befriended by thrill-seeking party-goers Ron and Kyla (John Cena, Meredith Hagner) at a resort in Mexico. Only Murders in the Building

Nomadland
Following the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society, as a modern-day nomad. McDormand won an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the film. Streaming August 13.
