What Are the Best Reads in Reese’s Book Club? Just ask Google Assistant!

We love the Nest Hub here at Slickdeals (read our full Nest Hub review here), but sometimes I wish Google Assistant could help me with more of life’s critical decisions. Like what shoes I should wear to brunch, or whether to cook a franken-dinner from a concoction of salvaged pantry items or throw in the towel and order pizza.
I don’t expect Google Assistant to tell me how I look in the morning any time soon, but it can now help with another of life’s great conundrums – what book to read next.
Thanks to a collaboration between Google Assistant and Reese’s Book Club, owners of Nest smart speakers, smart displays, and the many Google Assistant-equipped mobile devices (in English-speaking countries globally) can now get their monthly book recommendations with a simple voice prompt.
Saying “Hey Google, read with Reese’s Book Club” will summon the current and previous monthly picks from Reese Witherspoon, along with commentary on the books from Reese herself.
As part of the hands-free, interactive experience, you can take a quiz to get personalized recommendations, and hear reviews on spotlighted titles. The experience is enhanced further on smart display devices (like the Nest Hub) with video and book covers, along with text highlights.
Membership isn’t required to access this content, but existing members of Reese’s Book Club can simply link their accounts to get started, while new users can create a new account by signing in with their Google account.
So, now your Google Assistant can help you get stuck into a good book with ease. And I’ll continue to be consistently late for brunch as I struggle with footwear indecisiveness.
