Remember Mom on her special day.

Sounds pretty simple, right? Honoring that amazing woman who has taken care of you and loved you (even when you most definitely did not deserve it) and showing her some appreciation (like taking her to a great restaurant) on her special day — which falls on May 14 this year.

If you've already made plans and reserved your spot, that's fantastic; you're a good son or daughter. If you haven't, hang your head in shame for a few seconds, then do something.

And you're in luck; we've done the heavy lifting and identified some of the best Mother's Day specials going in Palm Beach County.

OK, so technically this isn't taking Mom out to eat on her special day, but it is getting her a beautiful sweet treat that she did not have to bake or clean up afterwards. This award winning, family-owned breakfast, brunch and lunch spot will offer several special for moms on their special day. There will be three lobster dishes including the lobster Benedict, the lobster and while cheddar omelet and the lobster avocado cobb salad. The brunch will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It begins with sweet petite oysters and Antonius oscietra gold caviar served on ice with buckwheat warm blinis and traditional garnish. Appetizer options are from a list of the café’s classics complemented with spring flavors like Café Boulud green gazpacho; pea & mint salad and Daniel’s green asparagus salad. Featured entrée items include French toast topped with crème brûlée chantilly and fruits des bois; pan seared lobster and crab cake with poached egg, remoulade and celery; housemade gemelli; seared diver scallops and turbot roasted on the bone. For Mother's Day, the father-and-son team of Chef Michael Velicu and Daniel Velicu, will be serving their a la carte menu of Mediterranean dishes (along with some specials) for lunch and dinner. As a treat for all moms, and all of the special women in our lives, the Velicus will be providing a complimentary selection of decadent bite-sized desserts for each table of diners. They will also be offering bottomless mimosas, Bloody Marys and bellinis, for $25, per person, throughout the day. 1 to 9:30 p.m. with last dinner reservation at 7 p.m.

Ben's will be offering one dine-in and two takeout options for Mother's Day.

The dine-in option will be their chicken marsala dinner that comes with rice pilaf, sautéed spinach and a choice of soup or small garden salad for $27.99.

The first takeout package is the party platter plus for 10 for $199.99. It includes four dozen assorted hors d'oeuvres (mini knishes and franks-in-jackets), NY delicatessen your way (choice of either 3.5-pound cold cut platter with rye bread, 11 overstuffed sandwiches or four-foot party hero and 11 wraps), salads, condiments, fresh-cut coleslaw, homemade potato salad and relish tray.

The second takeout package is self-service BBQ for 10 for $229.90. It includes 15 Hebrew National beef franks and rolls, 10 quarter-pound beef burgers and buns, two and a half ready-to-eat-or-heat BBQ chickens and dinner rolls, fresh-cut coleslaw, homemade potato salad, 20 assorted canned sodas, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup, mustard and paper goods.

There will also be an ice cream sundae bar, a Viennese sweet treats table and fresh fruit display. Brunch is 11:30 to 3:30 p.m. Adults $75 (additional $25 for unlimited mimosas and Bloody Marys), children ages 5 to 15 $39. Reservations recommended.

Wine and dine that special woman with a la carte Mother’s Day brunch entrées from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy selections such as crab and cheddar quiche, upright French toast with applewood smoked bacon and wood-grilled shrimp and grits. For dinner, Seasons 52 is serving an apricot-glazed spiral ham with sweet potato mash and maple-pecan streusel, available for dine-in or to go.

For families dining at home, impress mom with the Mother’s Day green box to go, serving four to six people with three courses of freshly prepared favorites, chilled and ready for guests to warm at home. Each box includes a choice of apricot-glazed spiral ham, cedar plank-roasted salmon or wood-grilled beef tenderloin, plus salad, two sides, and six mini indulgence desserts. Available for pickup on Saturday, May 13. Individual ham dinners are available for pickup on Sunday, May 14.
