We asked readers which Whatcom County restaurant made the best sushi, and the votes are in.
The poll had 13 options of local favorites in Whatcom County including KuruKuru Sushi, Zen Sushi & Bar, Fujisan Sushi and Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse. The poll received a total of 157 votes.
Winning with 63 votes was Blue Fin Sushi.
The local restaurant is also popular online, as it has a 4-star rating from 215 reviews on Yelp, and is praised for its sushi, bento boxes and sashimi.
Its menu features dishes such as gyoza, fried calamari, chicken teriyaki, spicy tuna rolls, tempura shrimp rolls and the Bellingham sushi roll full of shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, tobiko cucumber, cream cheese and avocado.

Blue Fin Sushi is currently only offering takeout due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from noon to 3 p.m. and 4:30-9 p.m. on Saturdays and from noon to 3 p.m. and 4:30-8 p.m. on Sunday. Blue Fin Sushi is located in Bellingham at 102 S. Samish Way #105.
