Each spring, the world seems to go absolutely head-over-heels crazy for blooming flowers. From cherry blossom season in D.C. to wisteria gardens bursting with color in Japan, people can't seem to get enough of the fragrant fauna each year.
One famous spring flower, the tulip, is the pride and joy of Holland, Amsterdam-so much that there's an entire festival dedicated to the plant. Their peak season is mid-April, but many flower fans can't make it all the way to Europe to see the country's blooms. If you're missing out on the tulip festival, there are plenty of other options in the U.S. Below, we've found the absolute best tulip festivals happening around the country, so you can start planning a trip ASAP.
Skagit Valley Tulip Festival
Located in Washington state, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival runs through the entire month of April-peak tulip season. You'll be able to visit several tulip fields by either walking or driving through them. The festival also has a ton of events, like barbecues, princess parties, street fairs and much more.

Tulip Time Festival
This festival is located in Holland, Michigan-which makes sense, due to the town's shared name with the Amsterdam city. It runs this year from May 4-12, and will be extra fabulous for the festival's 90th anniversary. There will be three parades, hundreds of Dutch dancers, fireworks, artisan markets, and of course, tulips galore.

Albany Tulip Festival
This upstate New York festival will take place on May 11 and 12, which is also Mother's Day weekend. It'll take place in Albany's historic Washington Park and will house more than 140,000 tulips in 150 different varieties. The weekend will be filled with live entertainment, delicious food, markets, kid-friendly activities, and will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point, UT
Utah is the home of this festival that runs from April 12 until May 4-but just remember that it's closed on Sundays. Thanksgiving Point's Ashton Gardens will be filled with more than 280,000 tulips, all imported directly from Holland. There are 15 differently themed gardens throughout this festival, so be sure to have your camera ready.
