Bethany United Church of Christ is hosting a concert of Ukrainian music as performed by the Hryhory Kytasty Cleveland School of Bandura on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. at the church, 1235 Broad Blvd in Cuyahoga Falls.

Admission is by donation to Bethany’s Ukraine Appeal. These funds support the refugees living at Pilgrim House in Stradch, Ukraine, by providing food for three meals a day.

Following the concert there will be refreshments, raffles and a bake sale in the Social Hall.

Speaking at the concert is Dr. Taras Mahlay, Director of the HK School of Bandura and Coordinator of the Medical Aid for Ukraine project of the Cleveland Maidan Association. Mahlay travels regularly to Ukraine to deliver medical supplies and will give an update on his most recent trip. Also speaking is Rev. Kim Mislin Cran, who coordinates Bethany’s partnership with the Ukrainian church whose mission is Pilgrim House and its residents.

Bethany began sending $1,275 per month to feed the war refugees in July 2022, increasing the weekly amount to $1,300 beginning this past January. All funds to support this “loaves and fishes” mission come from fundraisers and the generosity of the greater community and Bethany members.
