FYI: Both teams started their Southwest Athletic Conference schedules last weekend … Bethune-Cookman earned its first victory of the season with a 36-19 knockout of Grambling State at home … B-CU’s Darnell Deas was named the SWAC Specialist of the Week for his performance. He returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown and scored again on a pick-six … Alabama A&M lost to Florida A&M 38-25 last Saturday … The Wildcats hold an 11-5-1 lead in the all-time series between the two programs, but Alabama A&M has won the last three matchups dating back to 1978. In 2021, the Bulldogs beat Bethune-Cookman 30-27 in their first contest against each other since 1979 … The Wildcats left Daytona Beach and headed for Huntsville on Tuesday to get out of town before Hurricane Ian arrived.
