Beto O'Rourke calls to "take those bastards to court and get" $11B back from energy traders after power outages.

Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Beto O’Rourke, said he wants to “take those bastards to court” when referring to the energy traders and pipeline corporations that made money off the historic and deadly snowstorm that hit Texas in February of 2021.

O’ROURKE: “Our Governor ordered the price of electricity pegged at its highest allowable rate meaning that gas soon started trading at 200 times what it had sold for the day before. Eleven billion dollars was made by energy traders and pipeline corporations in Texas while you were freezing in your homes right here in Houston. And to add insult to injury, the grid is still not fixed, you're paying more on utility bills because all of us were left holding the bag. There's a solution to this one as well. Not only do we win this election. Not only do we weatherize and winterize every part of the grid, we also connect our grid, ERCOT, with the National Grid to draw down power when we need it, sell it back up when we have a surplus and that 11 billion that was stolen from us, we take those bastards to court and get every single penny back.”
