Texas Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Beto O'Rourke is campaigning on the South Plains and Panhandle today through Saturday as part of a 49-day campaign tour across the state.

During O’Rourke’s Drive for Texas, he will spend 49 days on the road as he travels more than 5,600 miles to visit every part of the state this summer. He is set to hold more than 70 events in over 65 counties as he campaigns to become the 49th governor of Texas. He faces incumbent Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in the November general election.

O'Rourke will visit Lubbock's Science Spectrum museum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, after a campaign stop in Snyder earlier in the day.

At 11:30 a.m. Friday, he will campaign at the Bailey County Electric Co-op, 610 E American Blvd. in Muleshoe before heading north into the Panhandle, with stops in Amarillo, Dumas and Spearman.
