Parents are no exception, as it may be hard to find affordable clothes for kids.
US households spend about $120 on average per month just for clothes — that’s more than $1,400 per year, according to Value Penguin.

Though they may not be prominently pointed to with signage, major retail department store discount sections are good places to save cash. But as DC News Now found Monday, quick price checks online for similar quality products can save shoppers money.
Major retail discount sections include ‘Backstage,’ displayed at Macy’s. DC News Now found new winter boots valued at $50 listed for only $25. Nordstrom Rack’s clearance section online listed similar quality winter boots for roughly the same price.
Dick’s Sporting Goods promoted a pair of children winter boots for $19.99 — an approximate 5 dollar savings.
Some websites will do the deal searching for consumers, including RetailMeNot, which offers cash back after submitting an email address — also offering promo codes.
The Krazy Coupon Lady promotes articles with promises to save cash at various retailers and links to coupons and promo codes.
Applebee’s offering $200 weekly Date Night Pass
Many department stores will offer loyalty programs for cash back, including credit card offers and subscription services.
Consumers should be aware that online subscriptions could include data tracking, and credit card users should be reminded to pay off debt to avoid often steep interest rates.
