Former Texas Rangers superstar Alex Rodriguez was on “MLB on FOX,” discussing game 2 of the ALCS between the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros when he lavished praise on the Ranger’s game 2 starter Nathan Eovaldi.

Rodriguez said Eovaldi stood out from every pitcher he had played with over his career.

“Two things about Eovaldi like Papi [David Ortiz] said. The hardest-working pitcher and I’ve worked with some great ones,” said Rodriguez, “ The best arm I’ve ever played with as a teammate is Nathan Eovaldi.”

That’s high praise from Rodriguez who has played with pitching greats such as Mariano Rivera, Mike Mussina, Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte.

MLB Hall of Famer David Ortiz also praised Eovaldi as underrated.

“I don’t think Eovaldi gets the recognition he should just like a guy like [Justin] Verlander and Max Scherzer ha has stuff as good as they do and probably even better. This guy will hunt you until he destroys you,” said Ortiz, “ [Eovaldi] is one of the most hardworking guys in the clubhouse you can ever meet.”

Eovaldi has been lights out in the postseason so far giving up only two runs in 13.2 innings with 15 strikeouts and no walks allowed.
