Betting: Are 49ers best value on Wild Card Saturday?

Minty Bets and Pamela Maldonado preview Saturday’s slate of NFL wild card weekend with Seahawks-49ers and Chargers-Jaguars.

Video Transcript

MINTY BETS: I'm Mindy Bets. Joined by Pam Maldonado. And it's Super Wild Card weekend. We've got two NFL games this Saturday and we've got you covered with some picks. Starting with the NFC West match-up between the 49ers and the Seahawks. Pam, the Niners are 9.5 point favorites and the total is set at 42.5. In the regular season the Niners when they've won they've blown out their opponents. Do you kind of see the same thing happening here in the postseason or is it just a different animal?

PAM MALDONADO: I do, Minty. I am not one to back favorites, but I love the 49ers -9.5. The 49ers are 7 and 2 against [? spread ?] at home. Now with Brock Purdy behind [? Zenner, ?] the 49ers are averaging 37 points per game when playing in their home stadium. The second match-up that we saw between the Seahawks and the 49ers, the Niners only won 21 to 13. But that was on the road.

Running back Christian McCaffrey still absolutely went on for over 100 rushing yards in that game. The big X factor was that Deebo Samuel actually was not playing in that match-up. Samuel is not only back in the lineup, but now they are facing Seattle's offense, which has been struggling as of late. In that match-up Seattle's first touchdown didn't come until the final five minutes of the game. If you're looking at the offense for the Seahawks Geno Smith and the Seattle offense twice against the 49ers. Only one offensive touchdown in 20 possessions. And as mentioned, didn't come until the final five minutes of the game.

So I'm asking myself, what can the Seahawks do differently? The answer is nothing. Giving the 49ers -9.5 at home with Brock Purdy behind [? Zenner. ?]

MINTY BETS: I like it. I like it. Next up, we've got the Chargers at Jaguars. Chargers playing 1.5 on the road here and we've got a total of 47.5. Fun fact here, I did not bet on either of these teams in the regular season because I just could not trust them. That being said now that they're pitted against each other I have to pick and I'm going with the Chargers on the money line. Now, the Jaguars have been on a tear their final five games of the season, winning all five of those games. But their opponents have been pretty unimpressive.

They face Tennessee twice, Houston, the Jets, and they won in OT against Dallas. The Chargers and the Jags on paper have a very similar offense. But the Chargers are a better tested team here. And they won against the Jaguars in week three. So give me the Chargers on the money line.

To recap our Saturday wild card picks. Pam has the 49ers to cover and I'm going with the Chargers on the money line. Bet $10 in win $100 when you wager on any event. Sign up at BetMGM.com/YahooSpecial. New customers only. Must be 21 or older.
