- It is week one of college football, and I have got my Best Bet of the Week. I am Pam Maldonado and I am turning to an underdog, but of course, what else would I be looking at, to win outright on Saturday?

The play for me is backing Army plus 2 and 1/2 against Coastal Carolina, and plus 110 on the moneyline. Now what do these service academy teams like to do? Run the ball. Army last season, second in rushing yards, returning its top two running backs and Jacoby Buchanan, who led in rushing scores along with Tyrell Robinson, who led in rushing yards.

Now the Chanticleers absolutely one of the best teams, one of my favorite teams to back in the last couple of seasons, because they have been fun. Top 50 against the run. Ranked better against the pass though than against all that rushing defense. Lost its top two linebackers. Coastal Carolina last year gave up over at least 230 rushing yards to both Buffalo and App State, gave up 335 rushing yards to Northern Illinois, and now down some of its key parts on defense.

Looking at the offense for Coastal Carolina, Grayson McCall, great quarterback. 27 touchdowns, three interceptions last year. Loses its top three receivers, accounting for 26 of the 3,400 total receiving yards and accounting for 24 of the 33 total receiving scores.

Now Coastal Carolina has a new offensive unit facing an Army defense that was ranked top 20 last year in total defense, and returning its top linebacker in Andre Carter II, 16 total sacks last year, and returning some of its top defensive backs. I will gladly take Army's ground game against this Coastal Carolina defense. Give me the underdog on the moneyline.
