In the last three games, the Cincinnati Bengals defense is fourth worst in the league for opponent yards per rush attempt. Who do the Bengals defense face this week? An Atlanta Falcons offense that does nothing but run the ball.
Atlanta, third most rushing yards in the NFL. That's why you should bet for the Falcons quarterback, Marcus Mariota, to rush for over 34 and 1/2 yards, and for the Dirty Birds to cover the 6 and 1/2 point spread.
The Cincinnati defense allowed Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to rush for 58 yards, including a 19 yarder, before giving up 230 rushing yards to the Saints offense just last week. Mariota this season is reminding me a lot of his Oregon days, rushing all up and down the field with 50-plus yards in back-to-back games, averaging 8 and 1/2 yards per attempt.
Who dey going to cover? Not Mariota and this Falcons rushing attack. Take Mariota over 34 and 1/2 rushing yards and Falcons plus 6 and 1/2 at Bengals. Run, Mariota run.
