PAMELA MALDONADO: It is Week 3 of college football and I have got my best bet. I'm Pam Maldonado turning to a Big-12 underdog for my pick of the week. The play for me, the Kansas Jayhawks plus 9 and 1/2 on the road against the Houston Cougars. The Jayhawks season win total was 2 and 1/2 and they are now 2 and 0 to start out. That is wild. The last time the Kansas Jayhawks started a season 2 and 0 was back in 2011. So here's why I love me some Kansas for this week. Quarterback Jalon Daniels, he has some mega upside to this offense.

18 of 29 for three passing scores just last week to a West Virginia defense. Houston Cougars? 119th in passing defense through two games, giving up 337 yards to UTSA, 7 and 1/2 yards per pass, and another 350 yards to Texas Tech. Houston, we have a problem. Three turnovers in two games. That is why they have been struggling just a bit. Jayhawks defense forced two turnovers against West Virginia alone.

This Kansas offensive line looked absolutely solid last week against West Virginia, though, yes, it was a one game sample size. But now Houston has three running backs to contain in Devin Neal, Daniel Hishaw Jr, and quarterback Jalon Daniels. Eight rushing scores between these three players. Now, both secondaries are vulnerable, I will give you that, but Kansas can absolutely control the ball on the ground, keep this game close, and you know what? I'm going to do it, sprinkle that plus-280 moneyline.

Head coach Lance Leipold, he has absolutely got a good thing going, so give me the Kansas Jayhawks plus 9 and 1/2 on the road to the Houston Cougars. Bet $10 and win $100 when you wager on any event. Sign up at begMGM.com/yahoospecial. New customers only, must be 21 or older.
