MINTY BETS: We're previewing twi MLB games for Thursday, June 17, starting with the Cincinnati Reds versus the San Diego Padres. The Padres are a minus 157 favored with a total of 7. Starting for Cincinnati is Wade Miley. He's 6 and 4 with a 2.92 ERA. He has 51 strikeouts versus 17 walks. Starting for San Diego, we have Joe Musgrove. He's 4 and 6. With a 2.5 ERA. He has 96 strikeouts versus 14 walks.

The Padres are 13 and for their last 17 home games. And we know San Diego has a deep lineup. But the Reds are a red-hot road team, going 12 and 3 their last 15 road games. So I'm going to look for the Reds to continue their road wins. My pick is going to be on the Reds first five though, they're 7 and 1 and in their first five innings their last eight games

Cincy is going up against righty Joe Musgrove. And they bat third in the league against righties with an OPS of 774. San Diego struggles against lefties like Wade Miley, ranking 25th in batting average with an OPS of only 638.

Next up, we'll focus on the Detroit Tigers and the LA Angels. The Angels are a minus 210 favorite with a total set at 9. Starting for Detroit we have Matt Manning. He's 1 and 3 with an 8.07 ERA. He has 36 strikeouts versus 10 walks. For LA, we've got Shohei Ohtani on the mound. He's 2 and 1 with a 2.85 era. He has 68 strikeouts versus 28 walks.

I'm looking for this game to go over. They face minor league righty Matt Manning. And LA is batting at 0.255 against righties like Manning with an OPS of 737. The Tigers offense is dull and only earns 3.8 runs per game while allowing almost 5 runs per game defensively. Although the Angels are an offensively explosive team, they also give up just as many runs as they earn, hitting the over in six straight games.
