MINTY BETS: It's time for our weekly MLB stock up, stock down segment where we tell you who we're loving and who we're fading this week. I'm Minty Bets. And joining me is Ariel Epstein. Ariel, who are you stocking up on?

ARIEL EPSTEIN: Minty, I'm stocking up on the San Diego Padres. I love this team, especially because in the futures market, you could still get them at really good value, longer than those 10 to 1 odds to win the World Series. The Padres have a top-10 OPS. They're still without their best player, at least one of their best players next to Manny Machado, in Fernando Tatís Jr., who hasn't played yet this year.

Looking over to the starting rotation, this Padres team has a six-man rotation with their sixth man being a Rookie of the Year candidate in MacKenzie Gore, who is unbelievable right now. Just had 10 strikeouts over the weekend. I love the Padres. I'm stocking up on them. They are a very good futures buy-in right now because they're only two games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the National League West.

MINTY BETS: I'm loving that pick, Ariel. And I am going to stock up on the Texas Rangers. Now they've been a sneaky team lately. And in just the last 14 days, they're tied 10th in OPS, 12th in batting average, and they're tied third in homers. And in that same time span, their pitching staff has the sixth best ERA, they've allowed the fifth fewest hits, and the third fewest runs. Other than facing the Astros, they've got a relatively easy schedule coming up, so I like them to make us some money. Now, Ariel, who are you stocking down on?

ARIEL EPSTEIN: I'm stocking down on the San Francisco Giants. This team's 5 and 1/2 games back of the National League West. They also just don't look like they did last year with that pitching. The pitching last season, the starters and the relievers, were top three in the league. The bullpen had a 2.99 ERA, which was the best in Major League Baseball. That was last year.

This year, the San Francisco Giants, they're bottom 10 in starting rotation ERA. They're bottom 10 in bullpen ERA. I don't care how well your starting lineup can hit. If you don't have the depth at pitching, then you're not going to get far in the playoffs. This Giants team, they do not look like they did last year. The National League West is extremely challenging. That's why I'm stock up on the Padres, stock down on the Giants.

MINTY BETS: All right, I'm going to stock down on the LA Angels. I'm keeping it within the AL West here. Now they've started off the season hot, but in the last two weeks, they've just been so cold facing the Blue Jays, the Yankees, and the Phillies. And things don't really get much easier for them as they face the Red Sox, the Mets, and the Dodgers. Now I do expect them to come up with a couple of wins as they see Seattle several times and the Royals. But for now, I think it's safer to fade the Angels until they show their dominance again.
