Betting: NBA Season Futures

JARED QUAY: Jared Quay here, and the NBA season is among us. We get to bet every day for the next seven months, depending on how much you like to, but I'm here to advise you on some of the best future bets for the year so we can lock our money up for the whole year. My first pick is the will pick. I like the Brooklyn Nets to win the NBA Finals at plus 240.
Last year, this team was literally a toenail away from beating the team who eventually won it. They're returning a lot of starters. Obviously, they got Kevin Durant, James Harden, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Blake Griffin. They lost Spencer Dinwiddie and who knows what's going on with Kyrie. But if he does return, it only makes the bench sweeter.
With that being my favorite bet, I also like Kevin Durant to win MVP at plus 700. He's a year now removed from the Achilles injury. He's only got one MVP trophy in his trophy case, 2014, that's because he's been working with mega teams.
But if Kyrie Irving doesn't come back, I think Kevin Durant is going to have to shoulder a lot of the load for scoring, which obviously leads to wins and which obviously leads to MVP trophies. At plus 700, one of the best players to ever play the game. Give it to me, baby.
Now I'm going to give you my sleeper pick. Last year, I picked the Suns to win it all and they got really close. But this year I want to win this sleeper bet. That's why I'm picking the Utah Jazz at plus 1,600 to win the NBA Finals. I know last year the Jazz were really beat up, and they ended up didn't play they best in the playoffs. But they returned to the core nucleus of their team. Hopefully they're healthy.
And they added Jared Butler, who's fresh off an NCAA championship. Maybe he brings that energy to them. At plus 1,600, sprinkle a little on it.
