Minty Bets previews betting odds for the White Sox and Tigers on Sunday July 4.
- Let's get into some MLB action for Sunday July 4. The White Sox and the Tigers. The White Sox are -175 favorite and the total is 8.5. Chicago is starting Lucas Giolito. He's six and five with a 3.8 ERA, 111 strikeouts, and 30 walks. Detroit's starting Matt Manning. He's one and two with an 8.16 ERA, six strikeouts, and four walks.
Matt Manning has only pitched for 14 innings in the majors, so we can't quite trust these numbers as it's based on a small sample size. But we also can't ignore the fact that the White Sox are one of the best teams in baseball right now. They're dominant offensively, scoring some of the most runs in the league, and they're also allowing some of the fewest runs per game from their opponents. The Tigers are the exact opposite on those lists. Although I do like the White Sox to win this one and would probably beat them on the run line, I'm going to watch for the over to hit as well. Lucas Giolito is having kind of an off season. In his last three starts against Detroit, he's given up a total of 10 earned runs. Give me the over.
