To honor her legacy, fans created the Betty White Challenge to encourage people to give at least $5 to their favorite animal charity and say, “Thank you for being a friend.”

The challenge continues in 2023 and Halifax Humane Society (HHS) is asking people to donate as little as $5 to honor the actress.

All donations will be used for the care of the shelter animals at HHS.
