Beverly Vaccine Order, Mask Mandate On Board Of Health Slate

BEVERLY, MA —The Beverly Board of Health is the next board on the North Shore set to discuss and possibly vote on a coronavirus vaccination and indoor business mask order.

The Board of Health is scheduled to meet at 3 p.m. on Tuesday with those two items on the agenda.

Danvers, Peabody, Salem and Swampscott have all reimposed the indoor mask mandate for all businesses and public spaces — such as shared areas of hotels and multi-unit residences — effective within the past few days, while the Salem Board of Health last week also voted to make coronavirus vaccination proof mandatory in bars, restaurants, gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys and other entertainment venues starting in January.

Salem's vaccination requirements are similar to the ones Boston Mayor Michelle Wu unveiled early last week.

Public comment was allowed at a Salem Board of Health discussion of possible mask or vaccination measures two weeks ago but was not accepted when the Board of Health voted to impose the new orders last Wednesday.
