1. Police investigating after student found with gun at South Mecklenburg High School
Police are investigating after a student was found with a gun on South Mecklenburg High School’s campus today.
Students and teachers are safe, and teaching continued without disruption, Principal Marc Angerer told families in an email message.
It is the third gun found on a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools campus this academic year.

2. Beyoncé is bringing her new tour to Charlotte. What we know
Beyoncé is coming to Charlotte.
Bank of America Stadium will host the multi Grammy-winning artist on Aug. 9 as part of her new Renaissance tour announced today. Charlotte will also be the only city she makes it to in the Carolinas on the tour.

3. Former Panthers coach Matt Rhule seeks $5M from team in arbitration suit
Even though the Panthers hired new head coach last week, their old one is still making headlines.
Former Carolina head coach Matt Rhule, who’s now back in college coaching at Nebraska, filed an arbitration suit with the NFL against the franchise in a dispute over approximately $5 million he claims he’s owed in severance.
Most of Rhule’s remaining guaranteed salary with the Panthers — approximately $35 million, according to sources — has been offset because of his new job with the Cornhuskers.

4. New rooftop bar opening in Ballantyne, serving modern Asian cuisine and panoramic views
A new rooftop spot is coming to Ballantyne.
Hestia Rooftop, a new restaurant serving modern Asian cuisine, will open in the spring atop the Panorama Tower in Ballantyne. The rooftop bar will also feature 180-degree views over Ballantyne Village.
Hestia Rooftop will join a slate of new businesses at Ballantyne Village that includes Casa del Tequila and a new location of Crispy Banh Mi.
