After spotting Tia Mowry in the crowd at Monday’s Renaissance World Tour show, Beyoncé shouted out her ’90s girl group roots. Concertgoers captured the nostalgic salute in several viral videos.

Mowry was among the many celebrity attendees at Queen Bey’s show on Monday at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. While Mowry was in good company, the 42-year-old noticed her in the audience and took a minute to pay tribute to the actress.

Beyoncé was singing her 2011 hit “1+1” when she spotted Mowry. She started freestyling the ballad, integrating Mowry’s ’90s single, “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!”

Before appearing on Sister, Sister, the actor and her twin sister Tamera Mowry-Housely were in a girl group called Voices with other child singers.

Beyoncé and the Mowrys go way back. In 1998, Destiny’s Child made a guest appearance on the Disney Channel sitcom Smart Guy, which starred the twins’ younger brother Tahj Mowry.

Mowry wrote of first meeting Beyoncé when recapping Monday’s events on social media.

“The first time I met @beyonce was during her Destiny’s Child days when she was on a production with my brother @tahj_mowry,” she captioned an Instagram carousel post. “From the beginning, Beyoncé’s undeniable talent is only rivaled by her incredible kindness and generosity,” she continued. “I felt so lucky to have been able to see her perform Renaissance on her birthday!”

Mowry continued, calling Beyonce an “amazing” and “detailed” artist. She added that it’s clear “how much thought and love was put into this show.”

The actress also confessed the shout-out was her favorite moment of the night.

She wrote, “The highlight of the night was when she saw me in the crowd, and she gave me a smile and a hello and then started singing ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’ from when @tameramowrytwo and I were in the singing group, Voices!”

Mowry shared that the shout-out was a complete shout and described the Grammy Award winner as an artist “who continuously inspires me with her talent, dedication, humility, and beautiful spirit 💗.”

The Twitches alum shared several pictures of her preparing to go to and while at the show. She also included a photo of her and her sister with the original four members of Destiny’s Child from the late ’90s.

As Blavity reported, Beyoncé is gearing up to conclude the Renaissance World Tour on Oct. 1 in Kansas City, Missouri.
