The Bey-hive will be swarming Thursday as Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce plays in two Marcus Theatres locations in Columbus, one day ahead of the film's nationwide release on Friday.

The long-awaited documentary film, a combination of backstage moments and worldwide concert performances that chronicles the development and execution of the Renaissance tour, kicks off at 7 p.m. at two locations in Columbus: the Crosswoods Cinema at 200 Hutchinson Ave. and Pickerington Cinema at 1776 Hill Road North.

Attendees of the early release will have the chance to receive a free Beyonce mini poster and a chance to win a full-sized Renaissance tour poster. The theater will also feature Renaissance-themed cocktails for purchase. Attendees should arrive to the celebration wearing all silver, according to a press release from Marcus Theatres.

Beyonce released her seventh studio album, Renaissance, in July 2022 to popular acclaim. It rose to No.1 status on the Billboard 100, and its lead single "Break My Soul" ascended to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

A celebration of Black music and ballroom culture, the album garnered worldwide recognition and won Beyonce her 28th Grammy Award, making her the most Grammy-awarded woman in history.

The release of Beyonce's highly-anticipated concert film comes on the heels of a wildly successful October release of Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" concert film, which grossed $250 million globally on its way to becoming the most successful concert film released in the U.S. Swifties can begin streaming the concert at home starting Dec. 13.
