'Beyond Van Gogh' immersive experience coming to Tallahassee

"Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience" is coming to Tallahassee — sometime in the near future.

Though local dates and a site for the exhibit not yet been announced, Paquin Entertainment Group has sent out a release naming Tallahassee as a "coming soon" spot.

The "immersive experience" features more than 300 of Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic artworks — including instantly-recognizable classics such as “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers” and “Café Terrace at Night” — now freed from their frames and in three dimensions.

Using the artist’s own dreams, thoughts and words to turn the paintings into a narrative, the exhibit shows Van Gogh’s famous flowers, cafes and landscapes coming to life by appearing and disappearing and flowing across multiple surfaces.

Through his own words set to a symphonic score, guests come to a new appreciation of this tortured artist’s work.
