Area schools will celebrate graduating seniors with a series of commencement ceremonies across Middle Georgia. While most private schools have held their graduations, events for public school students begin Wednesday and run through Saturday.

Here’s when and where local graduation ceremonies will take place, as well as details for attendees.

Bibb County School District

Spring graduation ceremonies for Bibb County schools will be held between May 24 and 26 at the Macon Coliseum (200 Coliseum Drive).

Each Bibb County graduate will receive 12 tickets for their ceremony, which are required for all guests over one year of age to enter the parking lot and venue. Bibb County School District employees do not need tickets to attend but will be required to show their employee ID badge to gain entry.

The coliseum doors will open 60 minutes prior to each ceremony. Attendees will have to undergo security checks, including metal detectors and bag searches, before entering. Each person is allowed to bring in one clear bag (12” x 12” x 6” or smaller) and one handheld clutch (8.5” x 5.5” or smaller).

Students, families, and other guests in attendance must also dress in attire appropriate for the occasion. Proper footwear is required and t-shirts, shorts, and other informal attire is not allowed.

Noisemakers, beach balls, balloon bouquets, and other items that have the potential to disrupt the ceremony are not permitted in the venue. Violators of these policies may be escorted from the premises by Bibb County Campus Police Officers or other security personnel.
