Bible and Science Conference comes to Orrville Grace Brethren Church

Christian astronomer Don DeYoung will speak at the Bible and Science Conference on Sept. 17 and 18 at Orrville Grace Brethren Church.

DeYoung will teach on the Creation Week, the Global Flood and on current events in the Bible and science. At 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, DeYoung will do a Scientific Walk Through Creation Week with activities about light, water, birds, and other wonders of God’s creation. This is a kid-friendly event designed for all ages.

At 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, DeYoung will give a message on the Ffood event and include descriptions of the Ark, sources of the flood waters and the geological evidence and importance of the flood. At 11 a.m. he will discuss current events in science that connect with what God has written. After lunch there will be a question and answer time that will cover dinosaurs, carbon-14 dating, age of the Earth and Intelligent Design.

DeYoung (Ph.D., physics and Master's of Divinity) is an avid creation scientist and educator specializing in astronomy and physics. He chairs the Department of Science and Mathematics at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. DeYoung has taught at Grace College since 1972.

DeYoung is on the board of the Creation Research Society with over 1,700 members worldwide. He gives lectures on many creation topics including astronomy, intelligent design, the Genesis Flood and dinosaurs. He also writes and speaks for the organization Answers in Genesis.

DeYoung has written 17 books, including several books designed for children, and many articles on creation topics.
