Bicyclist found unconscious in Summit County

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Akron police are looking for whoever is responsible for hitting a 47-year-old bicyclist and leaving them behind in critical condition.

According to the Akron Police Department, officers responded to the area of S. Arlington and Ray Streets shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday. There they found the man lying on the ground unconscious after being struck by a car.

Missing teen leads police on high-speed chases

The victim was transported to a local hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

Officials have not yet identified the victim publically as they continue their investigation and notify family.

Local officer shot trying to rescue hostage

Based on preliminary findings, officials believe the victim was heading northbound on S. Arlington Steet when he was hit by a white sedan that turned onto Ray Street.
