Bicyclist hit on Highway 199

Jul. 18—Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who severely injured a bicyclist on Highway 199 south of Kerby.

According to a news advisory from Oregon State Police, the crash occurred at milepost 27 sometime between the late evening hours of July 17 or the early morning hours of July 18.

The victim was discovered in a ditch by another person who notified authorities. The victim suffered severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital, OSP said.

OSP troopers found potential evidence related to a vehicle at the scene that will be analyzed to determine the vehicle's make, model, year and potential involvement in the crash, the advisory said.
