Bicyclist killed following Staten Island crash, NYPD says

A passing car struck and killed a bicyclist in a crash on a quiet Staten Island street, cops said Saturday.

The unidentified cyclist was traveling south along Wilson Ave. near Armstrong Ave. in Great Kills at about 10:15 a.m. Friday when he was struck by a gray Infiniti, cops said.

The bicyclist, described as a man in his 40s, was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital where he died.

Cops were trying to identify the bicyclist Saturday.

A 35-year-old woman driving the Infiniti and the bicyclist were heading in the same direction on Wilson Ave. when the crash occurred, cops said.

The driver remained at the scene. No criminal charges were immediately filed.
