The 1961-64 Chevrolet Impala/Bel Air/Biscayne is one of the most popular choices for custom classic car builders, and this 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne might be one of the most heavily customized examples around. Created by the Barrett-Jackson Garage, this Biscayne (which actually started life as a Bel Air) is one incredible build, and it will go up for auction later this month through Republic Auctions.

As is the case with any custom car, this Biscayne sports an eye-catching design that starts with a lowered and level stance that was achieved through a custom Accu-Air Suspension system. This long and low Biscayne was given a unique pea green paint job (which is said to have cost $20,000 alone) that is accented by the matte gray finish on the roof and taillight panel. While the car has been lowered and the door handles shaved, all of the body lines – including the iconic bubble top – and chrome trim remain intact.

While the exterior is a perfect mix of custom and stock, the interior of this car is 100 percent custom. In place of the factory dash, this Biscayne has a custom fabricated dash that incorporates an integrated center console that runs the full length of the cabin created a rear bucket seat layout. The analog gauges have been moved down to the center stack, while the instrument panel cutouts are used for air conditioning vents – it was built in Las Vegas and is being sold in Texas, after all! The trunk is custom as well with a fully finished appearance and a thick, carpeted floor.

For all its show, this custom 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne has plenty of go. Sitting beautifully in the finished engine compartment is a Corvette-derived 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine with custom valve cover trim and color-matched Biscayne lettering. This engine is backed by a 4L60E automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels through a Dana 60 rear axle with a limited slip differential. Four-wheel Baer disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors can help bring all that power to a stop, and the custom JL Audio sound system ensures this Biscayne is ready for cruising.

With just 587 miles on the build, this fully custom 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne has plenty of years of cruising left in her, and this car will be looking for a new home at the Republic Auctions inaugural event in Dallas on November 22-23.
