President Biden mistakenly undermined his own party’s Senate majority on Tuesday evening when he misspoke and referred to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer as the “Senate minority leader.”
“Congratulations to Chuck Schumer, another term as Senate Minority Leader . . . only this time you have a slightly bigger majority, Mr. Leader. You’re the majority leader,” Biden said, quickly realizing his mistake.

“Thank you,” Schumer mouthed from the audience.
Democrats have a razor-thin majority in the Senate after having a more-successful-than-expected outing in the 2022 midterms.
Biden, who is 80 years old, has become notorious for his gaffes during his first two years in office.
Facing a divided Congress, the president, on Tuesday evening, called for unity and touted his bipartisan accomplishments.
A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll found that 62 percent of Americans believe the president has accomplished “not very much” or “little or nothing” during his first two years in office.
Just 37 percent of Democrats want to see Biden run again in 2024, according to a new poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
