President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden visited Fort Myers, Florida today to visit the victims of Hurricane Ian and assess the damage caused by the Category 4 hurricane. Over 100 people have died from Hurricane Ian and the damage is immense. Although the primary concern for both the President and the Governor were the people of Florida, their personal relationship was also a prominent talking point. Governor DeSantis and President Biden have both outwardly expressed dislike for each other, yet they put that aside to ensure the health and safety of the people of Florida.

BIDEN: “I think the one thing this has finally ended is a discussion about whether or not there's climate change and we should do something about it. But folks, I also want to, Jill and I have had you all in our prayers and I mean that sincerely. And we're here today because we wanted to tell you in person that we're thinking of you and we're not leaving, we're not leaving till this gets done. I promise you that.”
