In a radio interview on “The Dan Bongino Show” Monday afternoon, former President Donald Trump said that he wants to debate President Joe Biden “immediately.”

“I’d like to debate him now because we should debate. We should debate for the good of the country,” Trump said about his White House successor.

Trump has skipped every Republican primary debate and continues to ignore calls from his top remaining challenger, former South Carolina governor and UN ambassador Nikki Haley, for a face-to-face showdown.

Reporters asked the president during a stop in Nevada about Trump’s proposal.

“Mr. President, Donald Trump says he’s ready to debate you right now. Do you accept?” one reporter asked.

“He just said that on radio. He wants to debate you ‘immediately,’ he says,” a second reporter chimed in.

Biden laughed and asked, “Immediately?”

“Yes,” the reporters confirmed.

“If I were him, I’d want him to debate me, too,” Biden replied. “He’s got nothing else to do.”
