"...but President Trump revels in division and chaos. He'll do anything to distract us from focusing on his failures to deal with this virus and to protect the nation. He's still living in a dream world," Biden said.
The United States reported over 63,000 new cases on Thursday and over 60,000 new cases on Wednesday, a level on back-to-back days not seen since late July and as total U.S. cases surpassed 8 million.
JOE BIDEN: But President Trump revels in division and chaos. He'll do anything to distract us from focusing on his failures to deal with this virus and to protect the nation. He's still living in a dream world. He keeps teeling-- he keeps telling us that this virus is going to disappear like America. He said I think last night in his Town Hall. I didn't have the pleasure of hearing it. I was doing one myself. He said, "We have turned the corner." As my grandfather Finnegan might say, we were here, he said, "He's gone around the bend."
"Turned the corner"? My Lord. It's not disappearing. In fact, it's on the rise again. It's getting worse, as predicted. More than 215,000 Americans, I think it's 217 as of this morning. Americans have died from COVID-19. And experts have said, and have been saying for the last month and a half that nearly another 200,000 lives are like to be lost, likely to be lost in the coming months between now and the first of the year if-- if we continue to refuse to follow science.
