Big 12 Conference releases pre-seeds ahead of this weekend's Big 12 Wrestling Championships

The Big 12 Conference announced the pre-seeds for the upcoming Big 12 Wrestling Championships, set for this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Iowa State had all 10 postseason starters earn top-eight pre-seeds, the only Big 12 school to do so. Ian Parker (141) and David Carr (157) were both pre-seeded first, and seven Cyclone wrestlers were pre-seeded fifth or better at their respective weights.

Northern Iowa had eight of 10 postseason starters earn top-eight pre-seeds. Parker Keckeisen, the returning Big 12 champion, was pre-seeded first at 184 pounds. In all, six Panther wrestlers were pre-seeded fifth or better.

Oklahoma State led all schools with three wrestlers pre-seeded first: Daton Fix (133) Kaden Gfeller (149) and Dustin Plott (174). West Virginia's Killian Cardinale (125), Missouri's Keegan O'Toole (165), Wyoming's Stephen Buchanan (197) and Air Force's Wyatt Hendrickson (285) were the other four top pre-seeds.

A couple of former Iowa high-schoolers also earned Big 12 pre-seeds. Cade DeVos, from Southeast Polk, is pre-seeded second at 174 pounds. Tanner Sloan, from Alburnett, is also pre-seeded second at 197. Both represent South Dakota State.
