Great Northern Mall announces opening of Phoenix Theaters

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WJW) – Something big is coming to Great Northern Mall.

A press conference was held at noon on Tuesday about plans for the mall’s former Regal Cinemas location.

The former Regal location will now become a Phoenix Theaters, which is owned by Cory Jacobson and based in Michigan.

According to Jacobson during the press conference, the Great Northern Mall location of Phoenix Theaters is the company’s eighth theater and second in the state of Ohio. This will also be the company’s 69th theater screen.

“It’s a new era at Great Northern,” a release about the press conference stated.

The former Regal location is a 43,955-square-foot building. The press release said the new theater is a $5 million investment in the property is coming.

The investors revealed their plans at the press conference, along with city leaders and Great Northern Mall management.

According to Mike Walsh, the senior general manager For both Great Northern Mall and Canton’s Belden Village Mall, there is another big announcement to come for Great Northern Mall in the coming weeks.
