The Big Bang Theory co-stars Melissa Rauch and Kunal Nayyar will reunite for a one-off TV special.

Nayyar is set to guest-star in an upcoming episode of Rauch's legal sitcom Night Court. The NBC series follows Abby Stone (Rauch), a magistrate who presides over the night shift in a Manhattan arraignment court.

The network took to Instagram to post a fun video of the pair in the courtroom, teasing their reunion. In reference to their Big Bang characters, Nayyar says: "Oh Bernadette, please play my clarinet," before the camera pans to Rauch banging the gavel.

Nayyar will make his guest appearance in season two of Night Court on February 6 as world-renowned fashion designer Martini Toddwallis, who arrives at the court with a "bad case of designer's block".

According to the episode's synopsis, Martini "finds inspiration and maybe even a new muse when he arrives at Night Court".

A first-look image has also been revealed of the new character (via TVLine), teasing Martini as a possible love interest for Abby.

The reunion comes five years after the final episode of The Big Bang Theory aired. Nayyar played astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali on the hit US sitcom, while Rauch portrayed microbiologist Bernadette Rostenkowski.

Ahead of Nayyar's appearance on Night Court, Rauch previously hinted at a potential "love triangle" for her character.

"As she's finally finding her footing in New York and realising what she wants, she's also coming to terms with what she wants in her relationship, too," she told Deadline.

"And it also sets up a sort of love triangle with Neil [Kapil Talwalkar] and what the potential there could be in his feelings for her — which we will discover down the line and see how that unfolds."

It was recently announced that Talwalkar would not be returning as court clerk Neil for the second season, with TVLine reporting that the show wants to go in a different creative direction.

Night Court airs on NBC in the US. You can now buy the complete Big Bang Theory boxset on DVD and Blu-ray.
