Big Brother 2023 spoilers follow.

Big Brother has revealed that Farida Khalifa has been evicted from the house.

The first eviction of the 2023 reboot took place on Friday (October 13), as the public had to vote to evict either Kerry Riches or Farida Khalifa after less than a week in the house.

"I had the most amazing time. Thank you, everyone, for making the effort and coming today," Farida told the live crowd.

The pair's nominations were announced on Big Brother Late & Live on Thursday (October 12), and then viewers saw footage of the housemates actually nominating just before the eviction on Friday. Co-host AJ Odudu confirmed that more than half a million people voted in this eviction.

The two nominees had butted heads all throughout the week, while Farida suggested that the younger cast members were trying to get the older housemates out first.

Unlike in years past, housemates nominated only one person, and the votes broke down to eight nominations for Farida, five for Kerry, two for Paul and one for Henry.

One housemate who possibly had a lucky escape was Olivia Young since she was originally up for eviction following a launch night twist.

Sunday's premiere featured the housemates answering awkward icebreaker questions from Big Brother, and when Jenkin Edwards suggested he'd least like to live with Olivia, she was swiftly put on the block.

Olivia eventually earned immunity for the week by completing a secret task from Big Brother where she had to convince the other housemates not to put her last in their ranking of the Most Entertaining.

The first week of Big Brother 2023 has dominated media headlines, with the launch earning the show its highest ratings since the 2012 opener on Channel 5.

The cast has also been widely praised, including earning approval from the first-ever Big Brother winner Craig Phillips and Married At First Sight UK trailblazer Ella Morgan Clark.

Big Brother airs Sundays to Friday sat 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Each episode is followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
