Big Brother confirms two rule breaks

Big Brother spoilers follow.

Big Brother has confirmed two separate rule breaks in the house.

Will Best revealed on Big Brother: Late & Live in Thursday's (October 19) episode that Hallie was punished for telling housemates that she thought Matty nominated her. This was a break of the rules against discussing nominations.

"Therefore, Big Brother is left with no choice but to punish you," she was told in scenes that will air on Friday.

Hallie was then forced to wear a giant sandwich board that labelled her a "rule breaker".

Earlier, the main episode featured a scandalous moment playing out when the whole house learned that Hallie Clarke and Olivia Young had written secret messages to each other during nominations.

Olivia and Hallie appeared to be discussing who they'd chosen to nominate when Hallie began to spell out letters on Olivia's back.

"N? O?" Olivia said aloud, to which Hallie replied: "Okay, stop spelling now!"

"Yep, yep. Get you," Olivia added as Hallie traced two more letters onto her back.

That all took place in Wednesday's instalment, so in the latest episode, Big Brother called all of the housemates to the sofa to reveal what had been written.

"Hallie you wrote on Olivia’s back. Olivia you relayed this out loud and said ‘is a gameplayer’. Later on Hallie, you wrote another message on Olivia’s back, as you did so, Olivia you said the letters out loud ‘N’ and ‘O’," Big Brother confirmed.

When Big Brother asked Hallie if she had anything she wanted to say to her housemates, Noky asked if the teen's words were about her.

"Do you want me to say what was written? I said Zak was a gameplayer and I said I think Matty nominated me. It was nothing about Noky," Hallie insisted.

Olivia told her housemates: "I'm sorry. It was never intended to be a secret message."

Nonetheless, no rule break goes unpunished in Big Brother and that was certainly the case here — so Hallie and Olivia were forced to spend time in Big Brother jail in the garden.

The two had to wear orange jumpsuits and all as they sat in a jail cell in the rain. Inside the house, Zak was furious at the pair for talking behind his back.

"If they didn't get caught, I wouldn't have heard about that," he pointed out.

As they sat in the rain, Hallie and Olivia chanted in unison that they were in "hell". Still, they both swore that there was nothing "malicious" about their secret messages.

Once they were allowed back in the house, the two went straight to the Diary Room to accuse Big Brother of unfair punishment... until they were reminded they had to read the rules before entering the house.

Hallie did eventually apologise directly to Zak, before stressing to Noky that she truly wasn't referencing her in the secret code.

The rule break was first referenced last night when Big Brother: Late & Live host AJ Odudu confirmed the offending housemates would face repercussions.

"I can confirm that we've only had a blooming rule break!" AJ told the crowd following a clip that showed Hallie and Olivia tracing secret messages — including the names of other housemates — on each other's backs," she told viewers.

"Don't worry, this didn't affect the outcome of this week's nomination."

Earlier in Wednesday's episode, Zak and Henry were revealed as the two housemates facing the public vote after receiving the most nominations.

Zak received nominations from Hallie, Kerry, Chanelle, Jenkin and Henry, while Dylan, Olivia, Noky and Jenkin chose Henry.

The results will be announced during Friday's live show, with viewers now asked to vote for the housemate they want to evict.

Big Brother airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Each episode is followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
