What We Know So Far About Big Brother Season 22

From Oprah Magazine

  • Big Brother 22 All Stars is premiering on Wednesday, Aug 5 at 9 pm EST.

  • The network announced that "production will follow specific health and safety protocols for COVID-19 with the welfare of everyone involved as the highest priority."

  • The cast will be announced during the first episode, which will be a two hour move in.

Last year, CBS officially confirmed that Big Brother would return for season 22, with the long-running reality show set to honor its 20th anniversary in summer 2020. But as we know, with the coronavirus pandemic, all has not gone as expected.

Though the show typically premieres in late June, this time around, the All Stars season will begin on Wednesday, August 5 at 9 pm EST on CBS, at which point we'll get the big cast reveal. This follows months of speculation, including when eagle-eyed fans spotted a few new additions to CBS's online merchandise shop, with new "Big Brother All Stars" products.

The site was selling a face mask, bowl, mason jar, and mug, all printed with the same "Big Brother All Stars" logo. However, all four products have since been taken off the site, which leads us to believe the big reveal was unintentional. But until then, CBS just released its first images of the house. And guys, we see some familiar faces who may (or may not) be in the All Stars cast adorning the walls.

So, what time will Big Brother air on August 5?

The two hour, live move-in premiere event will take place on Wednesday from 9 pm EST to 11 pm. And CBS announced on their website that they're fully prepared to adjust the show to the risks that come with the coronavirus pandemic.

"Big Brother production will follow specific health and safety protocols for COVID-19 with the welfare of everyone involved as the highest priority. Houseguests will undergo a quarantine period prior to production and will be tested several times prior to entering the house. Once inside, they will be tested weekly during the season and have no contact with any crew members, and all supplies delivered will be disinfected. In addition, the live show will not have a studio audience."

Yes we do! Catch the full list right here!

What will the house look like?

On August 3, CBS released first look photos and videos of the All Stars season 22 house. And guys, we won't lie, we're impressed.

It seems like the season 22 cast is genuinely getting the All Stars treatment, with colorful, modern designs that have completely transformed the house. And y'all, there are a lot of mirrors. But something that stuck out to us was the wall art in one of the bedrooms, featuring portraits of player's past. We spy Jessica Graf (BB19), Swaggy C and Faysal Shafat (BB20), and Jordan Lloyd (BB11, BB13).

And in an exclusive video published by US Weekly, we got a peek at the house's brand new loft style kitchen.

“The kitchen contains more graffiti artwork and vintage shelves over the painted brick walls,” Julie Chen said to Us. “Spray paint can sculptures populate the hallway walls, provided by an artist in Croatia and a new lighted ceiling piece ties the entire look together.”

You can catch murals of Dan Gheesling (BB10, BB14), Derrick Levasseur (BB16), Rachel Reilly (BB12, BB13), and Danielle Reyes (BB3). So do any of these names hint at the cast set to be announced on Wednesday? Well, both Dan and Derrick have already said they are not returning. Both Jessica and Rachel are expecting their second child, so that leaves them out, too. And both Swaggy C and Danielle have said they're done with reality TV. So yeah, we wouldn't read too deep into the murals, but you never know....

Is Julie Chen Moonves returning for Big Brother 22?

Yes, y'all! She even confirmed All Stars 2 season with a series of posts herself.

When can I audition to be on Big Brother?
