Big Brother's Brian Dowling claims he's still "not got an apology" from Davina McCall following the pair's public row.

The presenter – who took over hosting duties from McCall in 2011, having won the show himself 10 years earlier – recalled how "uncomfortable" he felt when he caught wind of the fact that he'd been left out of the outing's one-off Best Ever Series special in 2020.

He said he was particularly irked by the fact that McCall, Rylan Clark and Emma Willis, who replaced Dowling in 2013, never even mentioned him when they came together to look back on the iconic reality show's history – claiming that Willis had stepped in to the role when McCall left.

When Dowling voiced his upset on Twitter, McCall replied and revealed that he was asked to take part. The former then replied, suggesting that she should've respected his decision to turn down the opportunity privately.

"I've not got an apology for stuff that was said. I know what happened to me during my time on that show – Davina McCall doesn't because she wasn't on the show," the 43-year-old told The Sun. "She resigned and left the show on Channel 4, and she passed me her microphone.

"I was uncomfortable with Davina's truth because they weren't Davina's truths to tell. They were my truths to tell, and how I felt regarding my firing from Channel 5.

"Davina worked on a show on Channel 4. Davina and I had a good relationship up until the summer of last year, but things were said publicly that weren't true and weren't fair," Dowling continued.

"I was a bit out of the loop because I was quite surprised they were doing a Best Bits of Big Brother.

"Davina, Emma and Rylan had a conversation and they talked about Emma being the presenter after Davina. I was like, 'Well no, because I was obviously the presenter after Davina'.

"There were only three hosts of Big Brother – Davina, me and Emma – and I just kind of felt that I was overlooked. I just went to address it. But I was not expecting it to go the way that it did with Davina and everything she was saying. I just wanted someone to acknowledge the fact I hosted it when it moved from Channel 4 to Channel 5. No one did."
