Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Carolinas host day at lake in Cornelius

Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Carolinas hosted its 18th annual Big Day at the Lake Saturday afternoon.

The organization said nearly 100 littles, ages 6 to 18, signed up to go boating on Lake Norman and cook out with their bigs.

“It’s almost a lifetime commitment that they bond,” Big Sister Liz Jordan said. “It’s really with their schoolwork, keeping them occupied and safe and giving them a learning experience.”

Big Brothers, Big Sisters said they managed to surpass their fundraising goal of $100,000 by more than $20,000.
