Channel 2′s Veronica Griffin spoke with businesses about how this weekend is helping them get back on track.

It’s the excited chatter as fans made their way to and from Dragon Con events on Saturday. Equally excited were the exhibit hall vendors hoping to cash in.

“We’re checking out the vendors. There are four levels of vendors. Incredible stuff, people selling stuff,” Garrett Pace, a Dragon Con fan said.

Several blocks away near Mercedes-Benz Stadium, street vendors were selling their apparel and gear.

Channel 2 Action News was downtown where we found restaurants packed with patrons, some watching the kick-off classic.

The big game pulled people out of their homes to spend time with family and friends and to spend money like the crowd here at Hudson Grille.

“Business has been really good with all the events coming in. We have many conventions coming in that hadn’t been doing that for last two years,” restaurant manager Joseph Hinman said. “It’s really helped business for Hudson Grille and also for the rest of Atlanta.”
