BARTONVILLE – Big Mike's Donuts & Coffee now sits side by side with Little Mojo's Kitchen Boutique.

Andrea Vincent and Mike Henry opened the coffee shop in 2022. Before opening, Vincent said they decided to divide the large space – situated at 1369 W. Garfield Ave. – and eventually use the other side of the storefront for retail.

Now, that vision has come to life.

The names of the adjoining shops complement each other – with Little Mojo’s juxtaposing Big Mike’s. Vincent said the name also pays homage to her grandparents − who often went by the joint nickname Mojo.

"My mom has six brothers, and they all came up this last week to be there for the grand opening and to see (the shop) because it's named after their parents," Vincent said. "So, it was a big deal for our family."

After a soft opening, Little Mojo’s held its grand opening event on Aug. 12.

Walking into the shop, customers can find a variety of kitchenware products and foods.

Vincent said many of the products – from homemade tumblers to laser etched coasters – come from local makers and businesses.

"We wanted to include people from the community that are also trying to get their name out there and start their business," Vincent said. “So, that was important to us.”

The shop also has an interior entrance to Big Mike’s Donuts & Coffee. Vincent described the flow as being similar to a Cracker Barrel, where “people can grab a coffee and then go to the kitchenware side and look around or vice versa.”

Moving forward, Vincent said her goal is to find more local vendors and continue to expand the shop’s inventory. She said any local maker or small business interested in bringing their kitchen-based products to Little Mojo’s can reach out through the business’s Facebook Messenger.

“We have plenty of space still to put products in,” she said.
