Here's to the Legacy.
The complete New Edition lineup — Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Johnny Gill, and Ronnie DeVoe — is hitting the road in 2023 for the 30-city Legacy Tour. Two shows are in New Jersey: March 18 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City and March 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark.
Keith Sweat; a Guy reunion with Teddy Riley, Aaron Hall, and Damion Hall; and Tank are also on the bill.
Tickets, $59.50 to $179.50, go on presale to American Express credit card holders 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 through 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. After that, a general public onsale begins 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16. Tickets can be purchased via blackpromoterscollective.com.
The New Edition reunited last year for the Culture Tour. It marked the first time on the road for the whole lineup since 2014.
"Few recording artists can attest to a superior 40-year career that stands the test of time, but New Edition can," said Gary Guidry of the Black Promoters Collective, the promoter of the tour, in a statement. "When we partnered with (New Edition) for the Culture Tour, although I knew it would be stellar, their show exceeded my expectations. The guys were nothing short of miraculous. We are excited about partnering with New Edition to further the legacy of the foundation they have already laid.”
New Edition hits include “Candy Girl,” “Cool It Now,” “Count Me Out,” “If It Isn't Love,” and “Mr. Telephone Man.” The group emerged from Boston in the early ‘80s.
Brown, who lived in Mendham with his late wife, Whitney Houston, is the subject of a new A&E reality television show, "Bobby Brown: Every Little Step."
Brown will be portrayed by "Moonlight" actor Ashton Sanders in the new Houston biopic "I Wanna dance with Somebody," in theaters Dec. 23. Naomi Ackie plays Houston.
