Oct. 17—DICKINSON — Packing, loading and unloading belongings into a new home can be a daunting task. Nick Knack Movers of Dickinson is proud to do the heavy lifting. Nick Nunez, Brandon Campa, Amy Hererra and their employees offer moving services throughout the region.

"We're full-service movers," Hererra said. "We like to stay local mostly, stay available for everyone around here and they seem to like that too. We are also very efficient, very quick movers."

Those desiring full-service can make arrangements for Nick Knack to wrap their belongings in protective paper and padding before the move, she said. The company will also help prepare homes for potential buyers and haul unwanted furniture to the landfill.

"We definitely do a lot of staging for people," Herrera said. "A lot of people get their carpets switched out so we do that too — move their furniture around into their garage and then back into their house a couple days later."

Because of the weight, delicacy and size, it's difficult to find help when moving pianos. Nick Knack Movers has the equipment and skill to move them, Herrera said.

"We go above and beyond with the pianos and make it look easy for sure," Nunez said.

They will also move safes and jacuzzis, he added. Before relocating to Dickinson, Nunez spent about 10 years worked for a moving company in San Diego. He likened packing trucks to a large-scale game of Tetris.

"It just came naturally for me and it's just something I've been doing so long, I just feel like I'm an expert at it," Nunez said.

After working in Dickinson for a few months, the trio noticed a gap in the local market and established their company in August 2021. Nunez and Campa share a special bond, not just as business partners but also as brothers.

"Owning my own company is just like a dream come true to me," Nunez said. "I'm just glad now that I own my own company and I can do it the way I want to do it and what I feel like is the right way."
