'Big head' world leaders play in Scottish pipe band

Armed with bagpipes and dressed in kilts, British charity Oxfam's 'big heads' band featured German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, U.S. President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

British charity Oxfam said it was vital that world leaders come up with action and not just 'hot air' at COP26, which started on Sunday (October 31).

It said wealthy, polluting nations are cutting greenhouse gas emissions too slowly, and not doing enough to support vulnerable nations facing the devastating impacts of climate change.

"These leaders, instead of reducing emissions and putting the world on a safer path, they are just blowing hot air. We have had enough of hot air, we have had enough of empty promises, what we need is concrete actions to address the climate crisis," said Oxfam climate policy lead Nafkote Dabi.
