Big (huge!) Broadway musical 'Pretty Woman' heads to Louisville. Here's how to get tickets

One of the most iconic movies of the 1990s is now a showstopping Broadway musical and it's heading to Louisville for the first time this month.
"Pretty Woman: The Musical," tells the tale of unlikely soulmates, Vivian and Edward, who overcome all odds to find each other — and themselves. It's a "dazzlingly theatrical take on a love story for the ages," according to its website. The show runs from Nov. 29-Dec. 4 at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, 501 W. Main St.
With music and lyrics by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, the touring production features a top-notch cast, including Adam Pascal ("Rent," "School of Rock," Disney's "Aida"), who is starring as Edward. "Pretty Woman: The Musical," is part of the PNC Broadway in Louisville 2022-23 season.
"We are beyond thrilled that Broadway is back," Leslie Broecker, president of Broadway Across America Midwest, said previously of the season. "We were able to bring back two long-awaited returns and four Louisville premieres this season, all of which provide a kaleidoscope of cultural experiences and themes."
The 2022-23 season, which opened last month with "Fiddler on the Roof," also includes "Annie," "Ain't Too Proud," "Hadestown," and "Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird."

"If you love 'Pretty Woman' the movie, you'll love the show. It has all your favorite lines from the film and it's set to a pop-rock score," said Matthew Porter, director of public relations PNC Broadway in Louisville. "The season has a little bit of something for everyone, think about it — we go from 'Pretty Women' to 'Annie' to 'Hadestown.' We're so excited."

2022-23 PNC Broadway in Louisville season lineup
All shows take place at the Kentucky Center, 501 W. Main St. Performances typically run for one week. Date/time options are Tuesday-Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 1 and 6:30 p.m.
'Pretty Woman: The Musical'
WHAT: Based on one of Hollywood's most beloved romantic stories, "Pretty Woman" is now a musical and on tour with Tony Award nominee Adam Pascal as Edward Lewis and rising star Jessie Davidson as the charismatic Vivan Ward. "Pretty Woman: The Musical" springs to life with a creative team led by two-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell ("Hairspray," "Kinky Boots," and "Legally Blonde").
The show's original score is by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance ("Summer of '69" and "Heaven") and a book by the movie's legendary director Garry Marchall and screenwriter J.F. Lawton.

'Annie'

Little Orphan Annie has reminded generations of theatergoers that sunshine is always right around the corner, and now the best-loved musical of all time is set to return in a new production — just as you remember it and just when we need it most.
"Annie," directed by Jenn Thompson, features the iconic book and score, written by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse, and Martin Charnin.
WHEN: Feb. 14-19, 2023
'Ain't Too Proud'
WHAT: Get ready for some signature dance moves and silky smooth harmonies as "Aint' Too Proud" follows the career of "The Temptations." This touring musical takes the audience on an extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Nominated for 12 Tony Awards and the winner of the 2019 Tony Award for Bst Choreogprahy, "Ain't Too Proud" is the story of brotherhood, family, loyalty, and betrayal directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff ("Jersey Boys") and featuring the Tony Award-winning choreography of Sergio Trujillo ("Jersey Boys," "On your Feet".)

'Hadestown'
WHAT: The winner of eight 20219 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, "Hadestown" invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. This new show from celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin is at its core a love story. A haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that intertwines two mythic tales — young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice and King Hades and his wife Persephone.

'Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird'
WHAT: Emmy award-winning actor Richard Thomas plays the role of Atticus Finch in the national tour of Academy Award-winner Aaron Sorkin's adaption of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterwork "To Kill A Mockingbird." CBS "60 Minutes" calls the adaptation "the most successful American play in Broadway history."
